EXCLUSIVE: Prateik Babbar’s half-brother Arya Babbar REACTS to Raj Babbar & family not being invited to former’s wedding; says, “Hopefully someday the boy has some brain that he uses”

On Valentine’s Day, actors Priya Banerjee and Prateik Babbar – who now goes by the name of Prateik Smita Patil, tied the knot in the presence of family members. This intimate ceremony was held on Friday at Prateik’s late mother, actress Smita Patil’s house in Bandra, Mumbai. While the actors shared pics from the marriage ceremony online, missing from the celebration were Prateik’s father, actor Raj Babbar and his half-siblings Arya Babbar and Juhi Babbar.

Arya Babbar on not being invited to Prateik Babbar & Priya Banerjee’s wedding

When asked about not being invited to Prateik Babbar’s wedding, his half-brother Arya Babbar told Bollywood Bubble, “I think it’s done and dusted now. And what I had to say on behalf of my entire family, I already have. I wish the couple the best, but I think it was very important for the world and our industry and media and for our friends to know that the boy did not call his father and the boy did not call his family. And it was important for everyone to know that he disrespected the love of his mom, Smita Ma. And I think I have communicated that already.”

He continued, “Now, if I would sit down and do a talk about it, it would be more along the lines of trying to gain some kind of marketing on it, which I really don’t need to nor am I that kind of a person.” He added, “It’s a sensitive time of hurt and emotions for us as a family. So thank you and please keep us in your prayers and hopefully someday the boy has some brain that he uses.”

Priya on wedding

Earlier today, Prateik Babbar’s new wife Priya Banerjee opened up about their wedding and told Hindustan Times, “Our wedding day turned out to be exactly as we dreamt of and imagined. It was intimate and special and with the people we love the most all under one roof. It was more special as we got married at Rock Cliff, which is Prateik’s mom’s house.”

She continued, “She bought for him so she could live with him and raise him there but unfortunately, she could not do that. And we believe that it was her gift to us that she wanted us to get married in that house and so we did.”
